Sources & References Policy
Every figure on CostsAZ is sourced from a real, citable government or institutional origin. This page explains what counts as an acceptable source for us.
What We Accept
- Official government fee schedules and agency websites (e.g., U.S. Department of State, USCIS, state Secretary of State offices)
- International institutions with public data platforms (e.g., the World Bank’s Purchasing Power Parity dataset)
- Primary legal/regulatory publications where a fee or tax rate is formally set
What We Don’t Use
We do not use crowdsourced estimates, unverified forum posts, or “average cost” articles without a named primary source as the basis for a published figure.
Linking to Sources
Wherever possible, we link directly to the official source on the same page as the figure, so you can verify it yourself.
